Employee Spotlight: Pam Elliott, Quality and Food Safety Manager, North America

Pam Elliot has made it her mission to maintain and/or improve the quality of the products she has been entrusted with, since she first graduated college. When the opportunity arose for her to try her hand at food safety, she was up for the challenge. Learn more about her journey.

Q: How long have you been at ofi? (years): 4 years on October 7th

Q: What brought you to ofi? What was your experience before coming to ofi?

My background has been in quality since my first job out of college. Prior to joining ofi, I was the Quality Assurance Manager at a lithograph company.  I chose ofi because it was offering a position in quality but looking for an individual with an elevated skill set, in the food industry.  I was up for the challenge. 

 

Q: What has your journey at ofi been like? Have you experienced promotions or switched departments, roles, etc.?

My journey at ofi has been full of great challenges, from increasing my knowledge of standards that I thought I was already familiar with, to the importance of conformity across the products that we produce daily and how this conformity affects all of us, both producers and consumers. With that said, how could I not want to be a part of ofi?

 

I began my journey as Quality Assurance (QA) Technician, was promoted to QA Lead and was promoted once again to my current role as Quality and Food Safety Manager.

 

Q: What’s the most exciting part about your job?

The most exciting part of my job is the satisfaction in knowing that I have done things right and have made the best decisions that keep our customers safe and assist in providing the highest quality product we can.

 

Q: What has been your favorite moment at ofi so far?

My favorite moments at ofi have been the numerous engagements that I have had the pleasure of attending. My team and co-workers are like my second family. We all have a great relationship and it is a pleasure to be in their presence on or off the clock.

 

Q: Our company purpose is ‘be the change for good food and a healthy future.’ In what way do you live our purpose through your work?

My daily focus is to ensure that there is no potential for poor quality product to escape this building by maintaining a quality system that validates that all processes perform as they should. By increases my knowledge of quality standards and making sure that my peers possess that same knowledge.
